Carbon project development services

Our carbon emission reduction team has developed one of the largest portfolios in the world.Camco’s involvement Being an avid developer of carbon emission reduction projects before the Kyoto protocol was introduced, we have vast experience in the financial structuring and technical delivery of projects across renewable, waste recovery, energy efficiency, coal mine, and biomass technologies. We work with companies to develop carbon projects in China, Africa, North America, Russia, South East Asia and the UK structuring each project to maximise the sale and delivery of certified emission reductions to compliance and voluntary buyers.Emissions reduction governing schemes we work withCamco’s typical role is to evaluate project feasibility (leveraging existing or newly-created methodologies) and usher the projects through the respective governing schemes. We have experience working with the following frameworks:Kyoto ProtocolThe United Nations Kyoto Protocol’s flexibility mechanisms for verifying emissions reductions include Clean Development Mechanism for developing countries (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) for developed countries. Both frameworks guide projects through a rigorous and public registration and issuance process.
  • Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
Most developing countries must comply with emissions reduction targets and the CDM process closely monitors and assesses all projects before certifying and issuing carbon credits called Certified Emission Reductions (CERs). These credits can then be sold to industrialised countries.Click through to Kyoto site
  • Joint Implementation (JI)
Some developed countries do not have to comply with emissions reduction targets however they too can earn carbon credits called Voluntary Emission Reduction Units (ERUs) for their effort. ERUs can then be sold to companies, individuals, organisations and governments that wish to voluntarily offset their greenhouse gas emissions.Click through to Kyoto site Voluntary Carbon Standard The VCS Program provides a global standard and program for the approval of credible voluntary offsets. VCS offsets must follow a stringent criteria including being real, additional, measurable, permanent, independently verified and unique. Click through to the VCS site
