In 2009, our global carbon footprint was 1,200 tonnes CO2 equivalent, a net decrease of 31.3% from our 2007 footprint; a 33% decrease in emissions per employee. Camco purchased carbon emission reduction certificates from Plan Vivo projects to offset all remaining emissions. Plan Vivo projects are located in Latin America and Africa and promote environmental protection, education, local capacity building and poverty relief.As part of our aim to secure 10% of our energy from onsite renewable sources, a biomass heating system run on wood pellets was installed in Overmoor, one of our largest UK offices. It replaces the gas heating system and helps reduce our carbon footprint. In Africa, two of our three offices have harnessed the abundance of sunlight to power their operations on solar generated electricity.Paper ProcurementCamco uses environmentally friendly paper, such as post-consumer waste recycled content paper for all of our printing requirements.
